About Me

Hmmm – well, let’s see…
I’m a Christian, a husband, a dad, a son, a pastor, a musician, a writer, and bits and pieces of a bunch of other things. My work life has followed three main phases – business to teaching to church. I’m also the Weekend Services Pastor at Northview Church, an awesome church in the Indianapolis suburbs. I used to work for Willow Creek, another awesome church in the Chicago area. Plus I’ve written for various magazines and websites, and do other freelancy sorts of things on occasion…

Oh yeah – the name’s Greg. Greg Wallace. But not the race car driver or the major league pitcher or the British celebrity chef. Just the creative worship guy. Hi.

It’s my hope that these ideas, musings, rants, raves, etc… will inspire you. They’re just my opinions – but again, I hope that they’ll help to inspire you. Because the church really, really needs inspired creative types. If you’re a creative type (and most people are, deep-down), ask God for help. Then take any ideas that are useful to you – borrow them, nab them, use them, adapt them – and make them into something greater…

Hi Greg. I am Tifany Boyles. My husband, David, and I have been attending Northview for 2 years. We LOVE the production sophistication during church. You and the team are really incredible. So incredible, in fact, that I have been using your blog as an educational opportunity for my team here at Kiwanis International.
I am The Eliminate Project Director (see for UNICEF and Kiwanis and at International Convention this summer in Vancouver, we will have the opportunity to use a 100 foot wide screen on the main stage as our “back drop” to coincide with our Eliminate messages. I have been referencing the good work you do at our church as an example. We just met with Marquee (a production company in town you probably have heard of) and they had some great ideas, too.
Additionally, my husband is an architect and an artist and he mentioned that he would be interested in getting involved in our church through the artistic productions team or “Creative Arts” team and contribute to the amazing work done on stage.
So, thank you for all your amazing talent. You have really brought our church experience to life. Let me know if David should connect with you or if I could connect you with someone on my team to learn more about the opportunities that come with using a big screen like you do.

Greg, I am the Worship/Student Pastor at Solitude Baptist Church in Albertville, Alabama. We’ve been looking for ideas on how to purchase/make lighting “tube” columns. I saw the image of the ones from Northview and would be very interested in learning how you made those or where they were purchased. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
